ACUSTARE®️ Thermal Backup System for Cold Storage

ACUSTARE®️ is an innovative thermal energy storage for cold rooms and warehouses, enhancing protection and resilience to ensure the safety of food and perishable items.

Installing ACUSTARE®️ introduces a substantial amount of thermal mass from Phase-Change Materials (PCM), significantly increasing synergy. This results in a more stable cold room, where cooling cycles occur less frequently and for shorter durations, leading to 26% ENERGY SAVINGS on average.

In the event of power outage or refrigeration failure, the Acustare®️ tabs acts as battery that discharges thermal energy when temperatures cross a specific threshold, ensuring that the goods remain safe and stable at the correct temperature.

In the event of a compressor shutdown, our tests have shown that ACUSTARE®️ maintains the temperature for a guaranteed up to 48 hours (based on the installed model).

ACUSTARE® COMPONENTS

  • HDPE tabs, individually sealed attached to the wall or under the shelves of facilities using a Climate Control System
  • Filled with environment friendly Phase Change Material (PCM) that we developed
  • PCM formulation range from – (-25º C to 8º C)
  • The fixtures include either magnetic, screwed, or bolted stainless steel rails.

CASE STUDY:

In an independent energy test with 30 measuring points within a cooling unit, we were also able to prove that the number of cooling intervals was at least reduced in half when using ACUSTARE, and even reduced to 2/3 when optimized.

In the energy tests, a cooling unit without ACUSTARE registered 14 cycles within 6.5 hours. Using the new ACUSTARE system, there were only 7 – without using the optimized version with shelf units.

This enormous energy saving is due, among other things, to the fact that we can set the panels precisely to the specified temperature range between -25 °C and +8 °C.

This ensures that the systems support each other optimally.
